It may not look like it but I have been hard at work around here!

I added a page for almost all my products from Café Press. Now I’m working getting all my sub-menu pages set up. I didn’t really want to do the sub-menus but the main menus were just insanely long without them. I’m trying to keep the drop downs reasonable.

I got a little bit of the Earth Friendly section set up. There are no tools for that vendor so I’m having to set up everything manually. At this point that isn’t so bad because I don’t have much there.

I cannibalized (yum art project) a school project and made this “Coffee and Chocolate Life is good…” there is also an Earth Friendly version too.

Insomniac Thoughts

Author: Joanne

I had kind of a strange thought last night as I was not falling asleep. I guess it isn’t strange, maybe more insightful or centered. I don’t know. The only real problem I have is I’m broke, which sucks and all, but the people I care about are all safe, healthy and moderately sane. Knock on wood everyone stays that way.

All things considered the sanity is a little iffy in some of them but they aren’t homicidal maniacs. OK sanity is iffy in just about all of them, there is one niece who seems sane, but she might just be quiet. No matter they are the eccentric type crazy, but not so eccentric as to be non functional members of society, except maybe… never mind that isn’t the point. The point is as far real problems go I’m doing pretty well.

Sure I have concerns; will my son get good grades, is my mom OK by herself in that house with those stairs, will I ever rid the cats of their six legged friends. You know the usual stuff. The only thing that actually keeps me up at night is how I’m going to pay the bills this month.

Money comes and money goes. In terms of people in my life who care about me, I’ve got a treasure trove. I need to remind myself of this, and not let other people’s rulers be my measure.

I got a few things set up around here today!

If you scroll the bottom of the page, in my footer you will see the standard notations about what is running this fair site powered by Worpress and links to the template author. Also links to our “privacy policy” and “terms of use.” Just like a real website and everything.

I’m not sure what difference it makes really, but it does feel more serious with them in place. I’d have to have some actual traffic for their to be an issue with either, just trying to think ahead.

When I say play…

I mean I spent my day playing with some artwork in Illustrator.

I took this silly Whimsical Purple Flower, I made a few weeks ago, and made some pretties with it. It’s an abstract digital flower, made in a vector program with variegated petals and leaves. I was just kind of playing with some shapes and filters in Illustrator; and that is what popped out.   That happens sometimes when digitally scribbling, sometimes you get cool and sometimes you get nothing.

Whimsical Purple Flower, I know it such an original name, isn’t it? As far as I know it is not a representation of any real flower.

So  took my pretty little scribble and massed around some more with backgrounds and came up with some nice designs.

I did this environmentally friendly design.

Then I made these lovely pieces,I especially like the way the Tiles & Keepsake Boxes and Travel Mug came out.

Finally…

Author: Joanne

It’s been a bit of a struggle, and I’ve wanted toss the whole thing on the floor and jump and down on it a few times, but I finally have a template set up with all the plug-ins I want and everything displaying correctly in IE and FF (more or less). Needs some tweaking but I can do that easy enough with the CSS.

Yesterday I was ready to give up and start again. Glad I didn’t.

I am happy! Also Relieved! And ready to get on with adding some awesome content to my site and to some fantastic artwork to my product selection!

I’ve worked hard and stressed and fussed with this darned site all week, I’m going to play for a bit now!
