Murderous Moggy Cats

Buster

Shortly after the passing of her beloved black moggy Peanut Underfoot in September of 2006, Joanne and her son Aaron, adopted Buster the Destructer from a local shelter.

Joanne wanted call him Dash because he never walked anywhere. Aaron wanted to keep the name the shelter gave him, Buster. Buster is the name of the crash test dummy on Myth Busters. Which as it turned is rather appropriate since he is constantly running into things, falling off things, knocking things down and generally leaving a swath of chaos wherever he goes.

Buster is a gray – white tux with snowshoes and very faint stripes. He looks something like Tigger in a gray tuxedo. His fur is very very soft, like some kind of really expensive fur coat, except he is alive, not part of a coat and he slobbers and drools, something like an ill-mannered puppy only he has sandpaper for a tongue.

Buster is the cat in the Keltic Kat logo.

Squiggles

The next summer Squiggles came into the family.

A strange noise drew Joanne outside, where she caught site of a small, extremely loud and very distressed kitten under the neighbor’s truck. Where the little bugger was determined to stay, until the neighbor’s grandson managed to fish him out some hours later. Squiggles is black – white tux with a lopsided milk mustache and an ornery disposition. He won’t be held, but demands to be petting and scratching and insists on sleeping on top of people.

It is still unclear exactly how the little menace became part of the  Keltic Kat Graphic Design household. He was intended to go to a friend of Joanne’s or the shelter, but somehow he ended up as permanent resident. Every family needs its eccentric grouch. He was eventually dubbed Squiggles because of his refusal to sit still while demanding attention. In time he was also given a second name of Underfoot for his astounding ability to get stepped on while trying trip Joanne.

Together Buster and Squiggles have made numerous attempts to do in Joanne. Buster’s favorite method is to stand on her CPAP* machine in the middle of the night until it turns off. Squiggles favorite methods are tripping and startling. Why are they trying to do in the person who buys their food and litter? It is hard to say, who can really fathom the murky depths of a cat’s mind? It seems to be their hobby. Honestly, the joke is on them if they succeed, do they really think a teenage boy will remember to buy them food? Or maybe they don’t realize they’d have to go outside to find another sucker to feed them.

All kidding aside they are both sweethearts if a bit quirky, and a milk crate over the CPAP machine keeps them from turning it off. They amuse the house hold to no end.

*Continuous Positive Air Pressure machine for her obstructive sleep apnea, basically it just blows in air through her throat to keep it from collapsing while she sleeps. Eventually she was forced to put a milk crate over it.
